Having a reliable and long-lasting roof over your head is incredibly important — and choosing the right warranty can be as crucial as the roofing material itself. Fortunately, we can simplify the process for you.
This guide covers your options for GAF warranties and helps you understand the following:
The GAF warranty system is designed to offer peace of mind and assurance of quality to homeowners.
All GAF shingle warranties come with a 15 year wind warranty term and lifetime coverage for manufacturing defects. The term “Lifetime” in the context of GAF warranties refers to the period as long as the original individual owner of a single-family detached residence owns the property where GAF products are installed.
The lifetime warranty even extends to eligible second owners under certain conditions. It’s important to note that Lifetime coverage on shingles is only available for roofing systems that we install using GAF Lifetime shingles.
The protection period refers to the number of years that your GAF materials are non-prorated (you’ll receive payment for the full value of your materials).
GAF provides several warranty options— each tailored to different needs and preferences:
Selecting the right warranty depends on various factors like your long-term plans for your home, the local climate and your budget. If you plan to stay in your home for many years, investing in a more comprehensive warranty like the Golden Pledge could be beneficial. However, if you’re looking for basic coverage, the GAF Shingle & Accessory Limited Warranty might suffice.
Workmanship coverage is crucial as it covers the installation process. This coverage is available through certain contractors, particularly for installations covered by GAF enhanced warranties. It’s vital to ensure that your contractor is certified by GAF to use this coverage.
