Elevated Roofing - Hail Storm Repair

Why You Might Need to Replace Your Roof

There are many reasons why you may need to replace your roof. For example:

  • Extensive roof damage. We have extensive experience dealing with insurance companies about these roof issues:
    • Storm damage. This includes extensive wind, hail or ice damage. We specialize in storm damage roof repairs and replacements.
    • Water damage. Water damage can happen during a storm or it can take place over time. Signs of water damage include leaks, mold and mildew between your ceiling and the roof, and a softened or warped roof.
  • Old roof (normal wear and tear). Typically, in Texas, a good roof will last between 8 to 12 years due to hail storms and weather events. If your roof is old, consider having an inspector visit. Curling of shingles or loss of granules is another example of a decaying roof.
  • Home renovation/remodeling projects. Whether you’re building an addition onto your house or doing extensive remodeling, you may need to replace your roof during the process.
  • High energy costs with current roof. Save money by lowering energy bills with a new roof.
  • Planning to sell homeIncrease the resale value of your home if you’re planning to sell it in the near future.

We Navigate the Insurance Game For You!

Our 8 Steps in the Roof Replacement Process

We make the process of getting a new roof as simple as possible, including working closely with your insurance company!

Step 1: Free Roof Assessment & Roof Replacement Estimate

We will come to your house and carefully check for problems in your roof, checking for even the smallest issues. We use drone technology for accuracy, and we provide you with a photo inspection report. This report shows you any issues we find during the assessment.

Are you filing an insurance claim for your new roof? This may be because of hail, high wind, ice or other damage caused by the weather. If so, an adjuster from your insurance company will examine your damaged roof. We strongly recommend that we are on-site during the entire inspection. Adjusters who are burdened with numerous claims may not catch every issue. It’s important that we make certain that the adjuster does not overlook anything during the inspection process. You do not want to get less money from the insurance company than what you need for the roof replacement because the adjuster missed something.

Step 2: Homeowner Consultation and Roofing Contract

After the inspection is complete, we will carefully explain the results of the inspection. We will also discuss with you what we recommend to return your home to its original condition. During the consultation, we will walk you through styles and color options too. This way you can get a new roof that matches your home’s unique style.

From overall costs to job scheduling, our goal is to provide you with a clear and detailed account of what to expect over the course of the project. This includes material selection and the associated product and service warranties that accompany those new materials.

Unlike many roofing contractors in the Dallas area, we provide our customers with a full roof replacement. This means that you will get a completely new roofing system, with all of the necessary components, to make certain that your new roof provides the best possible performance.

Step 3: Site preparation

Our roofing crews always treat our customers’ homes like our own. This means that we provide a clean and safe job site from start to finish.

We keep your home’s perimeter clean and free of construction debris.

We also carefully place tarps on lawns and landscaped areas, and cover swimming pools and other structures that may be vulnerable during the project.

Step 4: Removal of Old and Damaged Roof Components

During a complete roof replacement, we remove all existing shingles.

We also remove flashing, damaged roofing components and debris.

We discard or recycle these components offsite.  We also make sure the roof is free from any nails, screws or other objects that could compromise water tight integrity.

Step 5: Installation of New Roof Surface (Roof Decking)

Once we remove shingles and other components, our team will thoroughly inspect the roof surface, or decking. Then, we will make any needed repairs. During this part of the process, existing roofing nails will be set. We will re-nail to completely secure the newly repaired roof decking.

After we replace the damaged decking and secure the surface, then we install leak barriers. We cover the entire roof surface with a high-quality felt underlayment.

With leak barriers and roofing felt in place, then we install flashing, jack boots, drip edge, and other components to prepare for the shingles. This includes a starter course of shingles that will provide wind protection.

Step 6: Installation of New Shingles

When installing shingles, our crew takes great care to ensure that they are securely nailed, properly spaced, and overlapping correctly to promote water drainage to reduce potential roof damage from moisture.

Once we prep and ready the roof deck, our crew will install new shingles on top of the roofing felt and leak barriers.

There are many different colors and styles of shingles and roofs to choose from! We can help you select the perfect look and color for your home.

Step 7: Sealing the Roof to Guard Against Leaks

Once the installation is complete, we use high-grade roofing cement to thoroughly seal areas around the flashing, vent pipes and other critical locations.  Further, we inspect the entire roof at this stage for any potential issues and make adjustments as needed.

To further protect the roof and enhance its visual appeal, we paint the roofing components to closely match the color of your new shingles.

Step 8: Final Inspection and Cleanup

Immediately following the installation, our crews will begin the cleanup process. First, we remove all of the construction debris. Then, we perform a “magnetic sweep” of your property to ensure that all nails and other metal fasteners have been safely removed from the property.

The last thing you need is a flat tire because your roofing contractor wasn’t thorough in cleaning up the mess they made on your property.

Once the area around your home is clean, our team will perform a final inspection. During the final inspection, we ensure the workmanship and quality of the job. Once we leave, you will not even know that Elevated Roofing was there (except for the beautiful, sturdy new roof on your home)!

Storm Damage Repair Experts

North Texas Weather is Rough on Roofs …especially in Dallas

We all know that weather in our area can be highly unpredictable. If a large-scale storm has passed through your area within the past 2 years, it’s ideal to have your roof inspected for damage.

Hail storms especially can be highly devastating to the safety & integrity of your roof; and its damage can often be difficult for a homeowner to spot. Getting your roof inspected can alert you to problems you didn’t know about, saving you money from future (more costly) damage and repairs.

We provide 24/7 emergency tarping and emergency roof repair when needed.

Experienced In Insurance Claims

We will help you file your insurance claim, prepare a roof assessment, meet with the adjuster.

Regular roof inspections and maintenance are crucial to ensure the longevity of your roof and to identify and address any potential issues early on. It is recommended to inspect your roof at least twice a year, ideally in the spring and fall. Additionally, after severe weather events like storms or heavy snowfall, it's essential to conduct an inspection to check for any damage.

There are several signs that indicate your roof may need repair or replacement: Leaks or water stains on the ceiling and walls. Missing, cracked, or curled shingles. Excessive granule loss from asphalt shingles. Sagging or dipping areas on the roof. Visible mold, algae, or moss growth. Excessive wear and tear or signs of aging.

The decision to repair or replace your roof depends on the extent of the damage, the age of the roof, and the overall condition. Minor issues, such as isolated leaks or a few damaged shingles, can often be repaired. However, if the damage is extensive, the roof is nearing the end of its lifespan, or there are recurring issues, it may be more cost-effective to invest in a roof replacement.

Based in Frisco, TX, we provide local roofing services throughout the North Dallas, Dallas and Fort Worth areas. We will also cross state lines to help our neighbors after severe or catastrophic weather events. A few of the areas we service, include: Dallas, Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Carrollton, Little Elm, Allen, Lewisville, Richardson, Grapevine, Arlington, Las Colinas, Fort Worth ...and more!
